about the college process but has given me an idea of where to start.
I went from being clueless, to knowing what colleges best fit my interests

environment. I now know what type of college would be the best fit for
me and can't wait to start visiting schools in the spring."  - SSHS Student

What is a college admissions consultant?  And why hire one?

A College Admissions Consultant works privately with students and families outside of school, building upon the important work that's already happening with a student's Guidance Counselor. Educational consultants offer time, resources, and information which is helpful to many families for a wide variety of their own reasons. Those reasons might include: seeking additional information, wanting a "neutral party" to work with their teen, staying organized, strengthening the application, building the college list, and seeking assistance in special circumstances. Frankly, many families do just fine on their own, and even enjoy the challenge. Others feel that some extra help is needed. It all depends upon your objectives, and how you feel about approaching the college admissions process. Just as applying to college is about making a match, so is working with an educational consultant. Read more about the benefits of hiring an independent educational consultant here. We invite you Contact us to request a complimentary consultation.

"Thanks to College & Company, potential stress in our household was greatly reduced, and the college application process became a positive experience.  Beth takes the time to fully understand students as individuals, and that showed in the list of colleges that our daughter ultimately applied to. By working with College & Company, our daughter knew exactly what she needed to do, and how to present herself in the best possible light to Admissions offices. At the same time, I felt fully informed as a parent, seeing deadlines and to-dos in regular progress reports. Throughout the entire process, Beth was straightforward, yet encouraging. She guides, without taking over. This approach allowed our daughter to own her college admissions process, and to move forward with confidence."    - SSHS Parent
